Women Inspiring Strength and Empowerment (WISE) Club

In the fall of 2010, MOST Club members responded to requests from their young women peers by helping them launch their own program: The Women Inspiring Strength and Empowerment (WISE) Club. WISE Club offers a separate space for elementary, middle, and high school girls and young women to explore key learning areas of development such as self-esteem, emotional and social intelligence, leadership, gender-based violence prevention, and healthy relationships. Our WISE members share these lessons with their peers, and in collaboration with the MOST Club, lead member-created Community Strength Projects.

WISE Club aims to motivate young women to cultivate confidence in all areas of their lives and create a healthy understanding of womanhood. An evolution begins in WISE Club as members define what it means to be a woman by creating safe spaces to discuss difficult issues. Involvement in this revolutionary program can be the catalyst for maturation into a self-aware and confident young woman.

THE WISE Club CURRICULUM OUTCOMES:

  • Empowers girls to overcome gender-based barriers by recognizing those barriers exist and identifying how they are affected by them

  • Provides a safe environment for girls to recognize their endless potential and strength

  • Inspires them to define their roles in society for themselves and to create a narrative that supports gender equity
